We should have an education diplomacy built on dialogue and mutual understanding. Instead we have a war diplomacy and we must end the practice of using a Military Industrial Complex to profit off the selling of arms. The disastrous wars in Iraq and Afghanistan cost trillions of dollars, and we are currently bombing several different countries. We spend more on our military than the next 8 countries combined and we should ban arming human rights violators, monarchies and dictatorship. Despite countless lives lost and destroyed, terrorism has only gotten worse.
It’s time to end the war profiteering. As different nations across the planet catch up to the United States of America in terms of technology and civil society, it is important to recognize that foreign policy is not a zero-sum game. Even though we are in competition over some issues and resources, our species can thrive together.
